Thanks to my 2 spirit sister and their big brother, I got hooked on vet radio. I have it playing in back ground while I'm either working on something or on Face Book reading and/or commenting on post..It's burnt into my memory these songs and the 2 ghost Division I was in before the 11th Air Assault test became the 1st Cav in 65,,Thank you for the memories............

Hubby was doing good until his comrade sent him an e-mail reminding him of the ambush 46 years ago today. Wiped out all but 1-2 of the other squad. Will be a long night (again)

Ed Perhay Friday, 10 July 2015 23:17
For many Kay it was not the experience there but the 46 year lingering nightmare that proceeded it. Please tell your hubby we can't feel his pain, but remind him he will always have the support of all of his "brothers and sisters" that understand, and honor his service.... God Bless both of you~

175th RR Co, Bien Hoa Army Base 68-70

Ed Perhay Friday, 10 July 2015 22:54
Welcome home Bill from all of us tape apes down the road a piece at Davis Station on the edge of SGN. I didn't know you but appreciated all you may have done for me and all my fellow Com Center brothers that allowed us all to return safety. TCS RVN 68-71

Bill "Jake" Jacobson Saturday, 11 July 2015 20:23
Bill; I was assigned to the 175th in mid-1969 after the372nd RRC shut down the short range (PRD1)?mission. There were so many excess 05Ds that I was assigned to work in supply until ETS in August. If you pulled guard duty, I was the guy who signed weapons in and out. Check out the 175th FB group.

Remember Shakey?

Ed Perhay Sunday, 12 July 2015 02:18
Bill in retrospect was that a really good idea? To have a guy named "Shakey" signing in and out weapons? Hey, nice meeting you, your neighbor in Saigon..

Gary McCone Sunday, 12 July 2015 20:42
Didn't get to the 175th until 1972 and helped close it down. As I recall, "Shakey" was the 175th dog and I don't believe he ever issued any weapons.

Hi Bennie,

Were you a Robinhood in ’69? (I noted Lai Keh, and the 1st Avn Bde patch.) Whether or not, Welcome Home, and thank you for your service.

Bob, did any of your unit's ships display personalized names painted on them like IRON BUTTERFLY, CHEAP THRILLS that you recall from your tour?

Just came across your station here in Australia. Not a Veteran myself but my young brother was killed in action in the dreaded Long Hais SVN 1967, along with 8 mates in an explosion whilst travelling in an APC.
B Company 5 RAR and 2 from 3 Cav. I am off next week for my annual placement of the 9 poppies in the Long Hais something I have done each year for the past 7 years…take care and thanks for the music…Bob
