Thanks guys for playing my request by the Royalettes. It may interest you to know that I now live in Australia and I am married to an Australian Vietnam Vet. He was in 161 REECE and was in country 1970 till 1971. I didn't know him then, he loves listening to your station as it brings back many memories for him. I too like you do voluntary community radio in Mittagong and also play many of these songs. Pam Stead

Thanks to Al for such kind words Bennie, I just wanted to update my situation, still froze, my technician diagnosed with Lupus and had to hock his ride to get injections, so I just pray for him and now once again in my lifetime I need patience, and thank you again Sir for what you are doing for all our family, everyday. The wife is baby-sitting so I got it cranked, at least Paul installed nice little speakers that work just fine this beautiful day

This may sound stupid, but I miss those days, especially the camaraderie. It has never been the same ever since... This radio station really helps...Great work Bennie...Thanks for the memories. Some of them were good, some of them were bad, but they were shared by all of us, and we could depend on each other to make it through the bad times. I miss that the most.

Bennie Thursday, 8 October 2015 20:57
Hey Bill, no it doesn't sound stupid at all. We all faced death in Vietnam by just being there. It was there that we quickly learned to trust our buddies who are now today's Vietnam Veterans. When we came home the people didn't trust us and we did not trust them. But as it was in Vietnam, we are today still close (camaraderie) to other Vietnam Vets. Vietnam Vet Radio is all about camaraderie - No, it doesn't sound stupid at all. Welcome Home! :)

Hello Bill, No it does not sound stupid at all.. As a matter of fact your comment is something that I think about most every day…I truly do miss those days, the bad and the very good!!
Bennie hit the nail on the head…it is just the way it was and continues to be the way it is today; we are all connected to each other and to the country of Vietnam through our service to the United States of America and respect for each other! Welcome Home!! Airborne! HN

Hey bro,you ain't alone in that thinking. All of us,from the Delta to the DMZ feel that way.To coin a phrase from the VVA if I may: "Together then, together now".That's how it was, that's how it is now....still.Welcome home my brother, welcome home.
